Jessica Levine builds large figurative and botanical sculptures from individually cut, bent and welded steel. The Midtown Association identifies her as the owner of Bear Metal Welding in South Lake Tahoe and documents Internal Exposure in Sacramento. Made for Burning Man in 2019, that work combines a human head with movable flower-like petals and optical elements in the eyes; Levine’s portfolio credits engineering to RBHU. Strong Magic, dated 2022, takes the form of a lioness-human figure with interactive flame effects, and the artist describes an alternative lighting-only presentation. Her 2025 Life Labyrinth uses small steel-rod pieces to build a human form illuminated by changing light. These examples document sculptural and fabrication experience. Johanna Poethig works across public art, painting, installation and performance, developing projects with communities and architectural settings. Her practice includes civic facilities, parks and transit corridors, using murals, metal elements and sculptural forms to connect local histories with everyday public space. For AC Transit’s Cultural Corridor/Urban Flow, her CV records a nine-mile corridor between Oakland and San Leandro with artwork at thirty-four stations in 2020. She served as lead artist alongside Mildred Howard, Joyce Hsu and Peter Richards. Resilient City, commissioned by San Jose’s Public Art Program for its fire-training and emergency-management facilities, combines laser-cut metal figures, a cityscape and a non-repeating geometric pattern. The project credits One Hat One Hand’s fabrication process. Its dedicated page gives 2023, while her CV lists 2024; those source dates remain distinct from a confirmed installation date.

Josh Zubkoff creates participatory sculpture combining large steel structures, geometry and programmed light. Looking Up Arts credits him as lead artist for Spider Trap, its Burning Man 2023 Honoraria project. Nine bolted steel-tube sections form a giant spider; its front legs support two webs, with more than six thousand LEDs in the upper web. For Interlace, listed as a 2024 Honoraria project, he shares lead credit with Srikanth Guttikonda. The project description presents human-operated hyperboloid columns whose outer rings transform straight structural elements between pillar and hourglass configurations, while addressable lights respond to movement. These credits place Zubkoff within a collaborative practice of fabrication, electronics and interaction. Looking Up Arts is a San Francisco organization supporting large-scale installations; that organizational base does not independently establish his home or studio address.

Explore sculptures that physically move: visitor-activated mechanisms, changing forms and wind-driven installations. Compare documented projects, understand how motion shapes the encounter, and identify the site and maintenance questions to resolve with an artist.
Find installations that make listening, musical participation or sound-responsive light part of a place. Compare playable works and spatial compositions, then plan how the experience will share space with visitors, neighbors and everyday activity.
