Adrian Landon ↗

Reno, Nevada, United States

Adrian Landon is a Reno sculptor whose practice includes hand-formed metal horses and large mechanical installations. His biography dates his first Mechanical Horse to 2014 and locates his work at the Generator maker space. Wings of Glory brought a moving Pegasus with flame effects to Burning Man in 2019. Landon’s project account credits engineer Tom West with the aluminum wings and propane effects, alongside a wider fabrication and installation crew. His non-mechanical work includes Equus Argentum, commissioned by the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida, in 2012. Apocalypto began as a hand-hammered steel sculpture in 2011; the artist distinguishes that original from later bronze and stainless-steel versions, including a bronze at the festival. These version histories are not treated as interchangeable physical works.

Alex Cook ↗

Boston, Massachusetts, United States

Alex Cook is a Boston artist whose mural practice connects nature imagery, direct messages and community participation. He began the YOU ARE LOVED mural project in 2014. The City of Boston commissioned him to create four interior murals for its Engagement Center, installed in November 2021 through the Transformative Public Art Program. The series includes Tree of Life, You Are Loved, Tree with Network of Stars and Thank You Heroes, with imagery and messages tailored to the different rooms and their users. Cook collaborated with the city’s Office of Recovery Services and Office of New Urban Mechanics. His own portfolio also documents neighborhood works including Love Forest in Roxbury and Welcome To Jackson Square in Jamaica Plain. Those portfolio captions identify places but do not supply installation dates or current-condition checks.

Alyssa Oliveira ↗

Alyssa Oliveira creates enterable installations with the Alpine Artists Collective. In Burning Man’s 2025 artist interview, she traces the group’s beginnings to 2023 and describes the Truckee Roundhouse makerspace as central to its fabrication process. Promise of the Decade used light-diffraction film to cast rainbows, while the 2024 Prismatic Perspectives—also called Doors Galore in her interview—brought 32 doors into a participatory structure. Her 2025 Disco Snail project shifted from primarily wooden architectural forms toward a character built with foam, concrete, tile and metal, including a welded aluminum shell. The interview records construction in progress; later archive inclusion does not independently verify every planned component, current location or availability.

Explore sculptures that physically move: visitor-activated mechanisms, changing forms and wind-driven installations. Compare documented projects, understand how motion shapes the encounter, and identify the site and maintenance questions to resolve with an artist.

Find installations that make listening, musical participation or sound-responsive light part of a place. Compare playable works and spatial compositions, then plan how the experience will share space with visitors, neighbors and everyday activity.
