How this work was made and presented

Fabricator’s account of the commissioned dragon.

A collaborative mobile sculpture

Engineered Artworks describes Elektra as a private commission fabricated by more than sixty collaborators. Its account combines hydraulic wings, translucent polycarbonate scales, flexible LED wing material, programmable imagery, audio and flame effects. These interdependent systems make the production team and the proposed operating configuration central subjects for a host’s initial discussion.

Preparation includes rehearsing the move

In a public account of preparing Elektra for Burning Man, Brian Enright identifies himself as a co-lead with Sean Orlando. He describes hundreds of preparation hours and days spent rehearsing disassembly and reassembly before transport. This firsthand account makes repeat presentation a substantial production phase whose scope should be discussed separately from the original fabrication.
