Jack Champion is a Northern California sculptor whose oversized animal forms explore perspective, scale and narrative. Smithsonian American Art Museum documents Murder, his five-crow Burning Man installation of 2016, and a later bronze pair exhibited in No Spectators in Washington, D.C. Burning Man’s archives also credit him with Homage au dali in 2022, translating Salvador Dalí’s Los Elefantes into a physical installation, and good fortune, a giant golden cricket, in 2024. A 2026 civic artist biography brings these projects and his museum exhibitions together, resolving differing historical Oakland and Cotati location labels. Big Art Loop also documents An Attempted Murder in San Francisco’s Panhandle. This record preserves the distinction between original resin crows, later bronze works and documented exhibitions without assuming that similarly titled objects are identical.

Jeff Schomberg is a Reno-based artist and fabricator working with steel, stainless steel and aluminum. His Monumental Word Series is a collaboration with Laura Kimpton, combining large letterforms, perforated bird silhouettes and illumination in public gathering places. Washoe County documents their BELIEVE at Reno’s City Plaza; Downtown Arlington credits both artists for DREAM, acquired in 2015 and relocated to Rotary Dream Park in 2024. Engineering collaborator RBHU records the pair’s XO outside Terminal B at San José Mineta International Airport as completed in 2022. Schomberg’s artist biography also describes fabrication collaboration with Hank Willis Thomas. This individual profile distinguishes his sculpture and fabrication practice while preserving the authorship of collaborators; inclusion does not imply representation by Big Art Partners or availability of the documented works.

Jeff Tangen is a metal sculptor associated with Port Townsend, Washington, whose work transforms discarded tools, machine parts and lenses into playful forms. Price Sculpture Forest presents Playa Flowers, combining flower pods previously shown at Burning Man with a separately made centerpiece. Its account identifies railroad light lenses and mainframe-computer disks among the materials, and describes the assembled work responding to light through the forest canopy. Burning Man’s 2022 archive credits Tangen with Disciples of the Dust for Pipe Dreams, an installation described with a bronze pipe, perforated dome, rotating screens and a zoetrope. His 2025 entry, Don’t Pick the Flowers, uses bright colors, reflective surfaces and illuminated flower forms. The forest installation and event entries have distinct documentation; their dates should not be treated as interchangeable.

Explore sculptures that physically move: visitor-activated mechanisms, changing forms and wind-driven installations. Compare documented projects, understand how motion shapes the encounter, and identify the site and maintenance questions to resolve with an artist.
Find installations that make listening, musical participation or sound-responsive light part of a place. Compare playable works and spatial compositions, then plan how the experience will share space with visitors, neighbors and everyday activity.
