How this work was made and presented

Pershing Square, Los Angeles, 2016

A temporary aerial work tailored to two viewpoints

Poetic Kinetics explains that Liquid Shard was designed for viewers beneath Pershing Square and people looking down from adjacent offices. Wind animated its suspended layers during the July–August 2016 presentation, revealing air movement across an urban space. The studio credits NOW Art LA with securing the location and describes the installation as completed overnight. The viewing geometry and installation timing belong to this particular square; they are useful questions for commissioning, rather than a standard touring package.

AA Visiting School Los Angeles / Poetic Kinetics, July 2016

A workshop became a time-constrained public commission

In a first-person account, AA Visiting School Los Angeles director Eulalia Moran describes adapting a student workshop when Pershing Square became available shortly before it began. Students studied the site, tested models and combined proposals through a jury that included city and arts-organization representatives. After selection, the team had two days to assemble material and one night to lift it. This specific production history connects education, client review and public-space logistics without establishing a repeatable delivery timetable.
