Coosje van Bruggen (1942–2009) was a Dutch-American artist whose monumental outdoor sculptures were created in collaboration with Claes Oldenburg. This individual historical profile preserves her authorship alongside that collaboration. The Walker Art Center credits both artists for Spoonbridge and Cherry, dated 1985–1988 and made in aluminum and stainless steel with paint. The Denver Art Museum likewise co-credits Big Sweep, a 2006 sculpture that enlarges a broom and dustpan, while the University of Pennsylvania documents their painted-aluminum Split Button, installed in 1981 before Van Pelt Library. These institution-specific references show the pair’s use of familiar objects at architectural scale across museum and university settings. Collection sites and object dates describe those documented works; they do not establish rights, availability or an active personal studio.

Dale Chihuly develops glass and mixed-media installations through collaborative production, with documented museum, garden and public-infrastructure settings.
Dan Barnes, also credited as Tinker, develops interactive outdoor installations with The Tinkers Knot. Burning Man’s archive traces an interest in participant-made sound, reused materials and moving forms: The Music Box is a human-powered metal-and-recycled-material instrument, while CHILL suspends five playable gongs in an illuminated X-frame. Fintastic School of Art uses wind to animate a school of fish forms, and The Question is described as an 18-foot question mark. The organizer’s 2026 listing adds Center of the Universe, a metal disc paired with a 26-foot arrow. These are documented event projects; the latest listing’s final installation and the works’ current whereabouts remain unconfirmed.

Daniel Strickland is an installation artist individually credited in Burning Man’s official archive and named as an organizer of Brazilian Burners. The collective’s project credits identify him as author of The Altar of Intentions, while crediting Vinicius Luz for lighting and three-dimensional modelling alongside other production collaborators. Burning Man’s 2017 listing additionally names Brazilian Burners and Keith D’Angelo. Later archive entries credit Strickland for The Torus Temple in 2022, Bouman in 2023 and Inner Worlds in 2024. Inner Worlds is described as an infinity-mirror floor surrounded by illuminated poles, while Bouman is presented as an immersive installation about cosmic themes. This individual profile preserves the surrounding team credits; it does not equate Strickland with the entire collective or confirm the works’ current locations and availability.

Darrell Ansted, whose artist website uses the name Darrell E. Ansted, makes large steel and LED artworks informed by his background in steel fabrication and powder coating. His site traces the move toward larger illuminated forms to encountering Burning Man in 2009. Centered uses repeated circular steel forms to frame views and movement; the artist portfolio shows a five-ring arrangement. Burning Man’s 2022 archive separately describes a three-ring configuration with LEDs and space for participants to pass through. Its 2023 archive lists Awaken Thee, a group of three wood-and-steel stupa-like towers with nighttime lighting. These event records document the artist’s proposed presentations; they do not independently prove completed installation or establish that the differently configured works remain available.

Explore sculptures that physically move: visitor-activated mechanisms, changing forms and wind-driven installations. Compare documented projects, understand how motion shapes the encounter, and identify the site and maintenance questions to resolve with an artist.
Find installations that make listening, musical participation or sound-responsive light part of a place. Compare playable works and spatial compositions, then plan how the experience will share space with visitors, neighbors and everyday activity.
