Bridge

Beliz Brother

Credit as documented: Beliz Brother

Beliz Brother's Bridge integrates titanium and stainless steel into the pedestrian connection between Harborview Medical Center's Norm Maleng Building and its western campus in Seattle. The 2008 work places overlapping titanium panels beneath the bridge over Ninth Avenue. Their arrangement suggests a dry riverbed that ends in a steel waterfall. Blue LED lighting, developed with project architects NBBJ, extends the composition into the evening. The collection account connects the arrangement to Japanese garden design, where open spaces give the eye a place to rest.
