Documented artwork / monumental bronze sculpture

Caldera

Tony Cragg

Credit as documented: Tony Cragg

Caldera's Madison Square Park bronze rests on three points while leaving space for visitors to move underneath it. The Conservancy placed this cast in the park's gravel area for Tony Cragg: Walks of Life, presented from September 18, 2014 through February 8, 2015. Its swirling mass made an encounter at ground level possible despite the sculpture's substantial size. The presenter explicitly says the bronze was cast for this exhibition, distinguishing it from other objects bearing the same title.
