Felipe Ortiz combines wildlife imagery, abstraction and strong color in public murals concerned with migration and adaptation. His artist statement connects migratory birds with his own journey from Colombia to the United States. Plumage, documented at Northeastern University in 2020, uses this visual language on the Stearns Center facade facing Huntington Avenue. The university credits its College of Arts, Media and Design makerspace with laser-cutting butterfly stencils that connect the mural visually to a neighboring Jef Aérosol work. Ortiz’s portfolio also records Past Present Future for Cambridge’s Central Square Mural Project in 2019 and Splash Pollinator #2 at Stoklosa Middle School in Lowell in 2024. These site-specific references show work for educational and neighborhood settings while preserving the role of fabrication collaborators and avoiding a claim about the artist’s current residence.

fnnch makes public-facing images with layered stencils and spray paint, drawing on familiar objects and popular visual culture. The artist describes street art as a way to reach people beyond museum audiences and lists public work in cities including San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Chicago. Burning Man’s archive connects this image-based practice with larger sculptural forms. Honey Bear III is listed in 2018 as a 28-foot honey-bear sculpture; Lips is listed in 2019 as a climbable red form twenty feet wide. A 2024 entry, Solar Bridge, describes a sculpture designed to incorporate solar generation, storage and consumption within the work. These entries preserve the artist’s event proposals and credits; they do not verify present locations, current engineering performance or continuing availability.

Giuseppe Palumbo uses animals, human gestures and familiar objects to explore social behavior through sculpture. His statement connects myth, metaphor and humor with questions about the human condition. The Mostly Mammals portfolio gives animals recognizable attitudes, including sheep that suggest both group behavior and individuality. It identifies a bronze One More Time at the Beverly Hills Civic Center entrance, while separately listing another work of that title with different dimensions. His commissions page describes Timberwolf as a monumental bronze wolf and states that its commission began in 2021; it does not establish a public installation site. The Plight of Humanity series expands this vocabulary into steel, bronze and cement-composite works, including enlarged safety pins, hand gestures and forms more than eight feet high.

Explore sculptures that physically move: visitor-activated mechanisms, changing forms and wind-driven installations. Compare documented projects, understand how motion shapes the encounter, and identify the site and maintenance questions to resolve with an artist.
Find installations that make listening, musical participation or sound-responsive light part of a place. Compare playable works and spatial compositions, then plan how the experience will share space with visitors, neighbors and everyday activity.
