Quill Hyde is a Northwest-based artist and design engineer whose public sculptures combine fabrication, animal forms and participation. Their biography describes work in metal, wood and fiber and an interest in how human culture relates to the natural world. The Council of Animals stages that relationship as a gathering: large metal animals occupy the role of judges, a coyote serves as intermediary, and benches invite human visitors to listen. The artist states that it debuted in 2022 and was hosted by PETA on Washington’s National Mall from July to September 2023. Penguin Colony, identified as a 2019 Burning Man Honoraria project, arranges faceted steel penguin fire pits around a wooden shack. Its seating and warmth encourage visitors to pause together rather than simply pass a sculpture.

Randy Polumbo works between Joshua Tree and New York City, transforming repurposed structures into immersive environments of glass, reflection and light. His practice connects fabrication and engineering with ecological systems and the qualities of particular sites. Lodestar, dated 2018 and commissioned for Coachella, reworks a Lockheed Lodestar airframe into a climbable flower-like structure with steel supports, blown-glass forms and LEDs. Angel Queen, dated 2017, adapts a salvaged military airstrip control tower into a reflective interior populated by glass flowers and crystal-like planets. Love Stream, dated 2008, similarly turns a 1964 Airstream trailer into a walk-in, illuminated environment. The artist records earlier Love Stream presentations at the Bass Museum and Bunker Artspace; these historical presentations do not establish the work’s current location or availability.

Ricardo Gomez, known as Deme5, is a Boston-based muralist and graphic artist whose gallery profile connects his work with graffiti, lettering and community spaces. Boston’s Malcolm X Park project credits him on Rob ‘ProBlak’ Gibbs’s team for Give Them Their Flowers, alongside Lee ‘Soems’ Beard, Michael Talbot, Ayana Mack and Luis Urena. In a 2020 interview about Rules of Engagement on Bartlett Station Drive, Gomez explains how the painted lettering combines messages of respect, compassion, love and Black lives. The City subsequently selected his All for Love mural for its Un-monument initiative; that announcement establishes selection, while completion and present location remain unconfirmed.

Richard S. Beyer (1925–2012), also known as Rich Beyer, made figurative public sculptures that used people, animals and humor to tell community stories. His legacy archive documents municipal commissions across Washington, Oregon and other locations. People Waiting for the Interurban, created in 1978 for Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood, was his first large multi-figure cast-aluminum sculpture. The archive also records The Traveler in Bend, The Bull in Ellensburg and Sighting Whales on the Edmonds waterfront. These projects relate recognizable gestures and local narratives to gathering places, streets and parks. This is a historical artist reference, not an active-studio listing. The recorded project sites describe the archive’s installation history; current condition, exact placement and rights to reproduce or work with any surviving sculpture require separate confirmation.

Richard Wilks is a Los Angeles artist and designer who makes physically interactive sculptures from metal and reclaimed plastic. His practice includes building tools and processes to turn discarded material into new sculptural components. Liquid Forest consists of three jellyfish-like forms that visitors can spin, combining recycled-plastic strands, light and zoetrope effects. The project page identifies a 2023 Burning Man Honoraria award and credits custom hardware and show lighting to Rina Shkrabova, alongside fabrication and installation volunteers. Aquatrope explores a related environmental theme through a mobile, pedal-assisted artwork carrying eight image discs about water. These distinct projects connect bodily participation with ecological subjects. The descriptions document the artist’s design and fabrication approach; they do not confirm current operating condition, permits or availability for a new venue.

Rob “ProBlak” Gibbs is a Boston artist and organizer whose murals connect Black portraiture, neighborhood histories and youth education. Raised in Roxbury, he co-founded Artists for Humanity and has worked with schools and emerging artists as part of his practice. Breathe Life Together, documented by the Rose Kennedy Greenway in 2022, centers a young Black girl amid imagery of community and intergenerational connection. The program’s account also acknowledges GN Crew members Genaro, SOEM and Wiso/TakeOne. The artist’s portfolio separately documents Breathe Life 3 at 808 Tremont Street. Its displayed 2017 date conflicts with a linked 2019 account, so no single installation year is assigned here. Both references document particular murals rather than a claim that every work remains visible or unchanged.

Robert Irwin (1928–2023) developed site-responsive installations using light, architecture, and landscape. Documented works include Two Running Violet V Forms, the Getty Central Garden, and untitled (dawn to dusk) at Chinati. This record describes his historical practice.
Robert Wicklund’s portfolio includes installations combining wood, metal, glass and paint. Nowhere Better is documented as a fifteen-by-twelve-foot work, while Hold On is listed at thirteen by thirteen feet. Their corresponding Burning Man archive entries describe arrangements of firewood towers: an eleven-tower cityscape for Nowhere Better in 2022 and thirteen towers within a nest-like structure for Hold On in 2023. The separate portfolio pages establish materials and dimensions, while the event listings supply those dated descriptions. The two references remain distinct works, without inferring a shared object or later transfer. A page for Untitled (In Love and Healing: A Temple for Emi) still describes a future Burning Man 2025 presentation; that statement is not used as proof of a completed installation.

Roberto Chao develops community murals through collaborative design and painting. Boston’s account of Afro-Latin Music and Dance describes work with Hyde Square Task Force, local youth and residents at Mozart Park in Jamaica Plain. Installed in 2022, the mural uses painted PVC panels and imagery connecting Africa, the Caribbean and the Americas through music, dance and cultural history. At Roxbury Community College, Chao led An Ode to Africa in the Americas, unveiled in November 2023. More than two dozen Black and Brown artists contributed to that project, painting aluminum-composite panels along an outdoor campus walkway. These projects document a community-led approach to civic and educational settings. The individual profile credits Chao’s leadership while retaining collective authorship; current studio location and commission availability remain unverified.

Ryan Elmendorf combines electronics, programming, mechanical engineering and metalworking in interactive public art. He works with Nick Geurts as the Denver-based Elmendorf/Geurts team, translating shared concepts into installations that respond to visitors through motion, light and sound. Their Awakening combines an articulating head-and-hands sculpture with a camera obscura; the studio records its first Black Rock City presentation in 2016. Light Pond in Aurora uses sensors and illuminated pavers to create wave-like responses to sound. Denver’s public-art collection also credits both artists for Sky Song at Levitt Pavilion and the compass-like True West at Green Valley Ranch Town Center Park. This profile distinguishes Elmendorf’s technical and artistic contribution while retaining Geurts’ shared credit; project histories are not statements of sale, loan or commissioning availability.

Ryan Mathern develops large steel sculptures through Prayer Engine, combining new and reclaimed materials with open frameworks and cut-metal imagery. His artist statement describes contrasts between reflective metals and weathering surfaces, often incorporating Tibetan script and mythical creatures. Fire is a material and performance element in these works, illuminating their internal forms and connecting them to participants. Sangbu is a thirty-foot dragon-shaped steel and stainless-steel fire cauldron created for Burning Man in 2009; its documented later presentations include Atlanta-area locations and other festivals. Dragon Fossil, created for Burning Man in 2018, uses concrete, steel and stainless steel in another dragon form. Citipati’s project description presents two nine-foot skeletons beneath a taller fire arch; its multiple Honoraria years are retained as funding/project references rather than one precise completion date.
