Kate Greenberg combines architecture, fabrication and interaction design in participatory art environments. Her artist-controlled site names Chronosydra, Trace, Incenter and Out the Other, matching the event archive and her Princeton interview. Chronosydra was an eleven-foot reverse hourglass, credited with the Dust Crusaders, that filled upwards during Burning Man 2016. For Trace in 2018, Greenberg described hand-dyed rope panels rising eighteen feet above a forty-foot-square deck. Her interview states that the completed 2018 Trace installation stood for five days before the team burned it on Thursday. Incenter’s 2022 event description places an imagined view from Earth’s center inside a house-shaped space with interactive global data. Her 2025 sculpture Out the Other invites visitors to speak into its ears; the event text describes AI reframing their words as a positive response. These interactive mechanisms are source descriptions, not independent technical or safety certifications.

Kathy D’Onofrio creates narrative art environments populated by imagined animals, aliens and mythic figures. Burning Man’s archive credits her across 2016–2019 and 2022–2025, including A RAT’s Nest, The Aliens of Calais, Anostraca and Not Now. Crystal Cat Thedral is expressly co-credited to D’Onofrio and The Cat Thedral Crew. A separate first-person account by Harlan Emil Gruber identifies her papier-mâché figures within his collaborative 11: 55 Reformation Portal in 2015; that contribution is not sole authorship of the whole portal. The archive’s character stories are artistic descriptions rather than verified scientific or supernatural claims. Current studio location is unconfirmed: the two 2025 entries list different hometowns. The linked artist reference is the event organizer’s archive, not a personal website; dimensions of her standalone works remain unstated.
Kelly Schott works across painting and sculpture, with public-art references documented by the Gaslamp Quarter Association and Burning Man. The Gaslamp association’s Rabbitville interview identifies her as the artist who painted Isadora for the Pendry Hotel collaboration, describing the challenge of applying detailed two-dimensional imagery to a three-dimensional rabbit form. Burning Man’s 2019 archive describes Pieuvre as an ornate mixed-metal octopus with stained-glass details, lighting and intended fire lanterns. Its 2022 archive describes Genesis as a kinetic sunflower sculpture with a spinning geometric center that invites audience interaction. These are distinct project references with historical contexts. Planned features in an archive description are not independently confirmed construction details, and neither commissioning availability nor the current location of these objects is established.

Kerry Veenstra builds electronic installations that make numerical processes and visual perception tangible. His project archive includes displays concerned with wind, mortality and population growth. Imbalance presented counters for births and deaths at Burning Man in 2022; the artist’s later account documents its plywood construction, installation and removal. Persistence, created in 2023, was designed by Veenstra and Victoria Hollis, with additional construction and installation assistance named in the project account. It adapts Bill Bell’s Lightstick technique: images emerge from a vertical line of rapidly changing LEDs when viewers move their eyes. A sixty-four-inch display sits on a separate twenty-two-foot mast. Veenstra explicitly states that the planned interactive controls were unfinished for the 2023 presentation, distinguishing the realized visual effect from the more ambitious original design.

L.A. Sugai is the credited artist behind a group of sculptural and environmental entries in Burning Man’s official archive. The 2016 cards identify the artist as L.A. Sugai, also styled gallactic butterfly, and describe #Monkey Luck as a fire-monkey sculpture and Heyoka as a sixty-foot-wide circle with four standing perimeter figures. The 2018 entries list A Rose for #Tyler, a large yellow rose under a gazebo, and Tusky the MISTIcal Elephant!, an ornamented elephant with a hand-pumped misting trunk. Matching public project contacts support the connection between these entries despite differing hometown labels. This is an archive-based profile: the artist’s full given name, current studio and completed condition of each registered work are unconfirmed. The linked reference belongs to Burning Man, not the artist.

Lee Kelly (1932–2022) was an Oregon-based sculptor whose large abstract metal works combined geometric structure with references to architecture and natural forms. Washington’s State Art Collection documents his weathering-steel Gate II (1970) at Olympic College and Gate III (1973), originally commissioned for Cheney Middle School and subsequently placed at Wenatchee Valley College. His Untitled (1976) for Pierce College uses galvanized and welded steel, while Blue Benn (1999) forms a courtyard pairing with Bennington II at Evergreen High School. These educational commissions trace a sustained practice in sculpture for shared outdoor spaces. Kelly also supported emerging artists: Willamette University records that he established a residency program at Leland Iron Works in Oregon City in 2015. This profile describes his historical practice.

Mara Greenberg is a named co-artist on collaborative fire sculptures and participatory installations documented by Burning Man. The 2017 archive credits her among the team for Fire Ancestor, a rotating steel-pipe sculpture with flame effects. The Pipe Gorgon, listed in 2022, credits Greenberg with Alan Becker, Marc Greenberg, Sammie Koehn, Nick Angel and the Frogma Collective; its description presents a propane-fueled instrument with playable flame-whistle keys. Alight, documented in 2023, combines a traversable bird-form bridge with flame effects. A collaborator’s project page names Greenberg, Becker, Trey Watkins and Cameron Brown as its lead artists. The same archive of projects credits her as a lead on No Place Like Home in 2019. This profile records her individual contribution while preserving collective authorship and unknown current studio location.
