What the project record tells us
Digital fabrication and 2019 Canadian festival presentations
Digital geometry becomes a music-driven object
Hacke’s rAD Infinitum began as a digital three-dimensional model, then took physical form through 3D printing, laser cutting and assembly. More than a thousand LEDs were programmed into sequences synchronized with music. The artist records appearances at Freezer Burn, Burn in the Forest and Beakerhead during summer 2019, grounding the technical account in named presentations. For a similar work, would the commission call for a fixed soundtrack and repeatable sequence, or for another relationship between the lighting program and its surrounding sound environment?

Sound-reactive light around a human figure
Peace Under Pressure is described by Hacke as a twelve-foot sculpture in steel and edge-lit acrylic, depicting a woman within changing light. The project page dates it to 2023 and records presentations at Burning Man, Transfix in Las Vegas and Beakerhead. A custom controller converts sound into the lighting response. That connection makes the acoustic setting part of the encounter. What sound should drive a comparable sculpture, and how would the intended response remain understandable when several nearby activities compete for attention?

Animal forms as orientation points
Forest Guides uses recognizable animal figures to give shared spaces a sense of direction and character. Hacke describes layered surfaces that catch daylight and internal illumination that shifts slowly through color after dark. His portfolio proposes paths, plazas and gathering areas as settings where those figures can become visual reference points. This offers a concrete way to discuss the connection between sculpture and movement. Which approaches, junctions or pauses in a site would benefit from an illuminated figure, and how should its daytime presence relate to its nighttime role?
