Woven Waves

RE:site Studio

Credit as documented: RE:site Studio with METALAB

Woven Waves links patterns of movement on the Tampa Riverwalk to the communities connected by the bridge above it. Folded ceramic-steel panels produce changing images as people move past on foot, by bicycle or on the river. RE:site combines West African, Cuban and Scottish patterns in a quilt-like composition. Those references connect the work to Fortune Taylor, Scottish businessman Hugh Macfarlane and Cuban workers whose histories shaped the area.
