Documented artwork / sculptural water feature and park installation
Wonder Wander
Credit as documented: Larry Kirkland
Larry Kirkland's Wonder Wander integrates two carved granite monoliths with water and engraved benches in Arlington's Center Park at Potomac Yard. Eyes on the stones face upward; changing water flow alters how their carved surfaces appear. Arlington County records installation in 2010 and names Meridian as funder. The artist describes working with LSG Landscape Architecture as the park design evolved. Seven red-granite benches extend the work into the surrounding landscape. The county distinguishes a later nearby commission, Fragments of Sky, from this installation.
