Documented artwork / Skyspace light and acoustic installation
Twilight Epiphany
Credit as documented: James Turrell
Twilight Epiphany brings a sky-viewing chamber and an acoustic performance setting together at Rice University. James Turrell's pyramidal structure accommodates 120 people across two levels beneath a thin, seventy-two-foot-square roof. LED sequences around its aperture accompany sunrise and sunset, shifting perceived sky colors over approximately forty minutes. The installation was acoustically engineered to support performances and the work of Shepherd School of Music students.

Materials and construction
Rice dates the project to 2012, describes five years of development and identifies patron Suzanne Deal Booth. Grass, concrete, stone and composite steel form the structure. The institution's page currently says the Skyspace is open. This is a dated source-status statement; the roof span is retained separately from unreported overall site dimensions.
