Documented artwork / Skyspace light installation

The Color Inside

James Turrell

Credit as documented: James Turrell

The Color Inside frames open sky from a quiet rooftop chamber at the University of Texas at Austin. Landmarks commissioned James Turrell's eighty-fourth Skyspace in 2013. Black basalt, plaster and LEDs shape the enclosure; changing dawn and dusk light alters the apparent sky color. Daytime viewing uses natural light through the aperture.
