Squidsoup

Singularity creates a volumetric field of animated light inside a geodesic sphere. Its mounting can be suspended, supported by custom truss or fixed to the ground, enabling different presentation arrangements documented by the collective.

Studio technical description of the 2020 work

An illuminated volume with several support approaches

Singularity uses an eight-metre geodesic sphere containing 6,720 controllable light points. Squidsoup describes suspension, a custom truss or direct ground support as possible configurations and credits Lotus Domes for the dome. Those alternatives require project-specific design; the page does not approve any particular structure or host site. Booking availability and the required support package remain unconfirmed.

Power Station Park, London, January–February 2024

A temporary landmark within a mixed-use development

Battersea Power Station documented Singularity at Power Station Park beside its north entrance during the January–February 2024 Light Festival. It formed part of a free trail extending inside and outside the development. The precedent shows how the work can anchor a route through a larger destination, but it does not establish that the same mounting or operating arrangement suits another property.
