How this work was made and presented

Artist’s documentation of the 2020 installation.

A mural activated by projection

Philipp Frank’s account of Portal 2222 describes an experiment in how projected imagery alters painted shapes. He credits himself with the mural and visuals, and Man of no Ego with the music, The Continuum. The documented sequence lasts 7 minutes 47 seconds and was created for a venue in 2020.

Munich, 2020; the artist rounds the sequence to seven minutes.

A specific Munich presentation

Frank’s exhibition history identifies 2222 PORTAL as a Munich digital-art-event installation from 2020: a hand-painted mural activated by a projection sequence. The physical painting therefore belongs in the scope alongside the audiovisual system. The brief entry gives no wall dimensions or projection layout; those remain necessary inputs before adapting its presentation to another room.
