Documented artwork / three-part bronze sculpture

Points of View

Tony Cragg

Credit as documented: Tony Cragg

Points of View occupied Madison Square Park's Oval Lawn as three separate, twisting bronze columns. Human profiles emerge along their surfaces, changing as a viewer moves between and around the forms. The columns interact as a group while retaining individual outlines. Presented in Tony Cragg: Walks of Life from September 18, 2014 through February 8, 2015, these particular bronzes were made for the park exhibition. They are therefore documented as that physical ensemble, rather than identified with similarly titled sculptures elsewhere.

Materials and construction

The catalogue dates the ensemble 2013/2014 and measures its three components separately, each with a recorded dimension close to seven meters. It credits the artist's collection and Marian Goodman Gallery. The measurements describe individual columns and cannot establish their spacing on the lawn.
