Documented artwork / monumental gateway sculpture (four-part)
Odyssey
Credit as documented: Albert Paley
Albert Paley's four-part gateway marks the South 24th Street bridge over Interstate 80 in Council Bluffs. Weathering steel, stainless steel and bronze form four different compositions around the bridge. The artist identifies Iowa West Foundation as commissioner; the foundation dates the installation to August 2010. Its tallest component is 60 feet 9 inches high. The foundation also documents fabrication near Rochester in a larger facility selected to accommodate the sculptures and lifting equipment.
