Documented artwork / geometric steel sculpture
Light Up
Credit as documented: Tony Smith
Tony Smith's Light Up combines sloping geometric planes in a large steel sculpture painted yellow. The artist's estate identifies the work as unique and dates it to 1971. Its archive records a Pittsburgh presentation at Westinghouse in 1973, a 1987 gift to the University of Pittsburgh, and inclusion in the 1998 New York presentation Tony Smith in the City, organized by the Museum of Modern Art with Public Art Fund.

Materials and construction
A university library guide describes tetrahedral and octahedral geometry but dates the sculpture 1974; that differs from the estate's 1971 heading. Pitt's campus mobility page locates the yellow work beside the Bike Cave near Posvar Hall, providing site context without resolving the date discrepancy.
