Documented artwork / architectural LED installation

Gravity and Grace

Cliff Garten Studio

Credit as documented: Cliff Garten Studio

Gravity and Grace occupies the upper two bays of the parking structure above Central Place Plaza. Cliff Garten's 2018 LED artwork uses live environmental data to vary color, form and apparent motion across its 150-foot width. Color-field painting and blues guitar informed the composition. JBG SMITH and Arlington Public Art commissioned the installation as part of the broader Corridor of Light program.
