Documented artwork / sculptural pedestrian pier
Grant Street Pier
Credit as documented: Larry Kirkland
Grant Street Pier extends Vancouver's waterfront park over the Columbia River. Kirkland joined the design team in 2015 and proposed a mast-and-cable structure to avoid numerous pilings in sensitive fish habitat. The project developed within Margot Long's park design for PWL Landscape and Planning. John Grant of Public Art Services managed the project, Martin and Martin Engineering supplied structural engineering, and Michael Mowry produced architectural renderings. The city dates the park's opening to fall 2018.
