Documented artwork / illuminated sculptural canopy
Civitas
Credit as documented: Blessing Hancock
Blessing Hancock's Civitas forms an illuminated canopy at the Tittle McFadden Public Safety Center in Lewisville, Texas. The artist's December 11, 2025 announcement identifies the City as commissioner and describes a fourteen-foot stainless-steel sculpture. Seventy-two phrases collected from city employees and residents are cut into the structure. The language selection includes English, Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese and Hakha Chin, with individual phrases translated into as many as five languages. Community input came from an employee workshop and a Sounds of Lewisville concert.
