Documented artwork / architectural glass installation on a pedestrian bridge
Chihuly Bridge of Glass
Credit as documented: Dale Chihuly; bridge architecture by Arthur Andersson / Andersson-Wise
The Chihuly Bridge of Glass links Tacoma's Museum of Glass with the downtown side of the rail corridor. Its Seaform Pavilion, Crystal Towers and Venetian Wall bring glass artworks into a pedestrian route. The Museum of Glass credits Dale Chihuly and Arthur Andersson; fabricator Zahner identifies Andersson-Wise as architect. Zahner describes a ceiling display of 2,364 glass works, towers rising 40 feet above the deck and an 80-foot wall holding 109 sculptures. The museum dates the project to 2002.
