Uplift

Vicki Scuri

Credit as documented: Vicki Scuri SiteWorks with Alexandr Polzin

Vicki Scuri SiteWorks and Alexandr Polzin created Uplift as a northern gateway to Sacramento and its River District. Two sculptures stand on opposite sides of Richards Boulevard at North 12th Street. Their intersecting wing forms suggest butterflies and create changing view frames as people move around the intersection. The artist dates the project to 2021–2022. Pattern-cut weathering steel makes the wings both structural and decorative, with LED lighting extending their presence after dark.
