The Beacon and Code Wall

JEFRË

Credit as documented: JEFRË, with Michael Counts and 3-Legged Dog

The Beacon and Code Wall turn a parking structure at Lake Nona Town Center into a public art destination. The tower presents changing video and music at night, with interactive elements incorporated into the experience. Beside it, the Code Wall embeds messages in binary patterns rather than presenting ordinary written signs. Plaques help visitors interpret those patterns and connect them to the community's vision.

Materials and construction

Lake Nona credits JEFRË, Michael Counts and 3-Legged Dog as project partners. Its account describes specialized dichroic glass in the wall; Orlando Museum of Art identifies a cut aluminum garage sheath and dates the project to 2014.

Presentation and site context

The six-story Beacon and accompanying wall belong to the Town Center parking area. The museum's 60-foot measurement applies to the tower, not the whole architectural installation.
