ENESS account of Sky Castle and its 2020 launch
Use passage to build a shared composition
ENESS describes Sky Castle as a group of inflatable arches in which movement advances a xylophone-based soundscape and changes the light. As more visitors enter, their combined activity develops the composition. The studio traces the touring work to its 2020 launch at Melbourne’s Fed Square. This is a useful precedent for an installation that makes circulation itself participatory. For planning, the arrangement of entrances and crossings should be considered with the musical behavior, so individual discoveries can remain understandable when several groups move through together.
