Three large fireflies perch on pieces of a broken jar, surrounded by smaller illuminated fireflies and benches. Interactive flames, LEDs and sound accompany a central fire pit, while modular components allow the installation to be presented at different scales.

Full composition and documented single-firefly presentation.
A landscape that can be reduced
Flaming Lotus Girls describes Serenity as modular: the full composition can occupy a fifty-foot-diameter space, while components can also appear individually. Its history specifically records one firefly and jar at Lawrence Hall of Science in 2025. That distinction gives hosts a concrete starting point for discussing the number of sculptures, seating elements and interactive effects in a proposal.
Which components would be included, and what experience survives at that scale?

Daytime gathering and nighttime effects
Maker Faire Bay Area’s 2023 entry describes three giant fireflies on a broken jar whose fragments provide seating. Smaller illuminated fireflies, benches, a central fire pit and an interactive soundscape extend the environment. It presents the work as a daytime destination that changes after dark, giving a host reason to define both periods in its operating program.
