Perspective extends the apparent space

Playmodes places HORIZON at LlumBCN in Barcelona in November 2021. Its description brings light, sound, space and perspective toward an apparent vanishing point, using the horizon as both a visual boundary and an idea of possibility. The intended illusion makes the audience’s approach and viewing position relevant parts of the spatial brief.

Production is divided between host and studio

The HORIZON brochure assigns the screen, lighting, sound equipment, setup crew and audio/video engineers to the organizer; Playmodes supplies control computers, interfaces and multimedia engineers. It calls for a dark outdoor setting and at least a day and night of adjustments after technical setup. Its example layout is explicitly adaptable, so equipment quantities need a current site-specific agreement.
