Cochrane’s account explains that Julia Cortel chose Gaia’s reclining pose, drawing on memories of watching her children at the beach. The sculpture uses stainless steel rod and mesh, with a framework based on a repeating floral geometry. The artist lists three overall measurements without labeling their axes.
