Documented artwork / illuminated public sculpture
Cloud Fountain
Credit as documented: Gordon Huether Studio
Cloud Fountain abstracts the shape of a bouncing water droplet at Elk Grove's civic center. Gordon Huether developed a composition intended to change as visitors move around it, with multicolored LEDs producing slow color transitions at night. Rainier Industries formed the aluminum tubing using CNC fabrication. The work is among the exterior pieces on the Avenue of the Arts between the community and aquatics centers; the artist describes selection by an arts-commission and city-staff committee in 2017.

Materials and construction
The 2019 studio entry gives a twenty-four-foot height in both caption and narrative, but lists conflicting depth and diameter figures. Its narrative adds a three-foot base. The perceived motion comes from changing viewpoints and light; mechanical movement is not established.
