Big Mo

Mark di Suvero

Credit as documented: Mark di Suvero

Big Mo stands in Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park on the Council Bluffs side of the Missouri River. The Iowa West Foundation places Mark di Suvero's sculpture near the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge and explains the importance of bridges to his thinking. He associates their spanning structures with connections between people and places. The riverside setting therefore supplies more than a backdrop: it connects the work's steel construction to a nearby working example of structural crossing.
