Documented artwork / public plaza sculpture

As One

Beliz Brother

Credit as documented: Beliz Brother

Beliz Brother created As One for the entrance plaza of Fort Worth's Bob Bolen Public Safety Complex. The City commissioned a work reflecting cooperation between its police and fire departments. Brother drew on the departments' collections of uniform patches, using two intersecting curved shapes based on the local patch outlines. Smaller patch forms cut through the steel create changing shadows on the plaza throughout the day. The sculpture rests within a stone bed and provides a backdrop for training-program graduates. Fort Worth records its dedication on November 15, 2018.
