The Kelpies: form anchored in canal heritage
Scott records The Kelpies at the Forth & Clyde Canal in Falkirk, Scotland, with a height of 30 meters and materials of stainless steel and painted mild steel. The paired horse heads refer to the Clydesdale horses associated with work on the canals and land. This is a specific example of monumental figurative sculpture drawing its subject from a place’s working history.

The Calling: fabrication and transport designed together
For Scott’s 2024 The Calling in St. Paul, production partner Dyson & Womack documents a 304 stainless steel structure made from individually cut, interlocking feather forms without an internal armature. The team divided it into 64 segments for twelve 40-foot trucks and reassembled it on site. Nous Engineering is credited, making the work a useful precedent for coordinating fabrication, engineering and delivery.
