Public art commissions
Portland (Maine) Public Art Program
City of Portland, Maine — Portland Public Art Committee · Portland, Maine, US
Documented selection route
The Harbor Common Park precedent requested emailed artist qualifications for a new artwork responding to Portland’s maritime setting. The committee separately maintains commissioning, selection and gift-review guidelines. The older call is retained as procurement history, not advertised as open.
Program history & cadence
Standing city program with an annual art plan and project-specific calls. The current committee overview refers to percent-for-art funding without establishing a rate, appropriation or next application window.
A documented program is not a current invitation to apply. Selection routes and program history reflect the linked dated sources. Confirm current availability, eligibility and application terms with the organizer.
