How the program works

Loans sit alongside site-specific commissions

Oklahoma City’s public-art catalog identifies both commissioned installations and borrowed works. Joe Slack’s Together Together is recorded as a loan from Allied Arts, while the city also documents site-specific projects such as StudioKCA’s Taking Flight at Scissortail Park and Susan Narduli’s Virtual Sky at the convention center. These precedents support more than one placement model. A proposed project should specify whether it seeks temporary access to an existing work or a new creation designed for its particular setting.
