How the program works
Augusta uses a two-year existing-work lease
The Arts Council’s 2027–2028 call seeks ten existing outdoor sculptures, with $3,000 split between installation and removal. It lists October 1, 2026 as the application date. That date has passed; an extension or completed selection was not verified.
Is the sculpture available for the full display and return schedule?
Pads and interpretation form part of the brief
The call specifies four-foot-square concrete bases, artist content for a digital walking tour and promotion of artwork sales. It anticipates a permanent acquisition after the display. Loan payment, a possible sale and the eventual acquisition decision are separate parts of the model.
Are footprint, anchoring and public interpretation materials ready?
The existing trail demonstrates repeat acquisitions
The trail’s own website describes the January 2025–December 2026 display and three acquisitions from its preceding edition. Listed works include Hearts at Play by Melinda Hoffman and Crescendo by Sam Spiczka. Its mix of loans and retained works gives future hosts a documented collection-building precedent.
