How the program works
The next sculpture application window is announced
North Charleston’s application page schedules the 2027–2028 outdoor sculpture call to become available December 1, 2026, with a February 25, 2027 deadline. Checked October 11, the window is upcoming. Detailed loan, installation and insurance terms must be checked in that edition’s prospectus.
What changes appear when the next sculpture prospectus is released?
Awards are separate from exhibition participation
The current Riverfront Park edition runs April 29, 2026–March 14, 2027. The organizer reports thirteen selected sculptures and a competitive prize pool of up to $25,500. That pool is not a guaranteed payment to each exhibiting artist.
Can the loan budget work without assuming a prize?
Current works provide a material precedent
The 2026–2027 list includes Bob Doster’s corten-steel Twin Portal and Lawrence Feir’s stainless-steel Orbital Resonance. These establish an outdoor metal-sculpture context. The collection page does not verify engineering, condition or availability for any subsequent placement.
Juried nationwide competition selecting up to fourteen outdoor sculptures.
