How the program works
Water Connects Us uses staged selection
Arts New Orleans describes qualifications followed by paid proposals from three finalists. Its formal eligibility section requires residence in greater New Orleans despite broader introductory wording. The page lists September 9, 2026; the linked RFQ also contains inconsistent September dates, so no extended intake is assumed.

Resolve the RFQ budget conflict before pricing
The RFQ cover lists $150,000; its budget section lists $170,000. Confirm the applicable total before pricing design, fabrication, engineering, transport and installation. The published schedule anticipates fall 2027 installation, subject to change.

The organizer retains long-term maintenance costs
The RFQ separates organizer-funded permit fees, documentation and long-term maintenance from the artist’s delivery budget. A maintenance allocation does not eliminate the need for material records and care instructions. Those details should be agreed before fabrication.
