How the program works
Annual loans link several host communities
Dogwood Arts describes one-year sculpture leases starting each September across Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Maryville and Alcoa. Its current program page reports 29 outdoor works for September 2026–September 2027 and invites potential sites and purchasers to make inquiries. Site sponsorship and artwork purchase remain separate decisions.
Can a host support a full year of public access and care?
The 2026 exhibition has documented artist payments
The archived 2026–2027 call lists a $2,000 lease payment split between delivery and removal, with a limited travel allowance. Its April 27, 2026 application date has passed. Those historical terms inform planning but do not establish the next edition’s contract.
Does the lease cover both installation and the return journey?
Installation readiness can determine acceptance
The same call requires durable, low-maintenance work with at least one dimension over four feet. It provides concrete pads and electricity but allows rejection of structurally unsound or misrepresented work on arrival. Completed-work submissions need accurate installation information.
