The opportunity

Approximate annual selection: 35 works. Contract loan: March 20, 2027–April 8, 2028. Provide 3–5 images of the submitted work, or rendering if unfinished; selected unfinished work and final photos due January 31, 2027. City/AAC alone installs on a weldable/boltable steel base. Property insurance excludes material, fabrication, structural and craftsmanship defects. Title/description, measurements, biography and headshot required. Opening-date conflict: the specific CaFE call is marked OPEN and gives October 1, 2026 as its opening date, while the foundation’s Key Dates page says October 31, 2026. The specific call’s closing deadline remains November 6, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. MST.

Who can apply

National; emerging and established artists. Maximum two separate applications, one selected work per artist. Original outdoor sculpture at least 24 in tall and/or in diameter, durable and publicly safe; no ongoing electricity, audiovisual technology or water.

Funding & costs

$1,000 stipend per selected artist. Contract retains 25% on exhibition-period sales. Artist transports work both directions; entry fee nonrefundable.
