Benson Sculpture Garden 2027 permanent collection purchase

The opportunity

Purchase of existing life-size or larger outdoor sculpture, for delivery by July 24, 2027. Bronze, stone, metal and other suitable durable media are alternatives, not jointly required materials. U.S. foundry/fabrication preference and a three-year workmanship/materials warranty are stated. Schedule shows December 2026 selection/initial City review then January 2026 final review; that year inconsistency is unresolved.

Who can apply

Sculptors age 18 or older by January 1, 2026 (legal agreement; the overview says 18+) working in permanent outdoor media; international eligibility. Up to three works, one application each; works entered more than once before, or duplicated in a permanent public location within 60 miles of Loveland, are ineligible.

Funding & costs

CaFE reports $70,000 without identifying a per-work price, aggregate pool or cost inclusions; it is not normalized as a price ceiling. The issuer says show-and-sale profits vary and normally fund two to four permanent purchases annually. Actual awards, work prices and funds available for any one work are not established.
