Weld Queen

Weld Queen is a sculptor and performer whose practice combines professional welding, large metal forms and audience participation. Her artist biography describes interactive sculpture as work completed through the viewer’s experience, alongside workshops and sound-based public art. Blastoff, shown at Burning Man in 2023 after an appearance at The People Festival in Monterrey, is a tower shaped like an aircraft: participants could climb to its wings while a tent-like tail provided shade below. High Six is a hand-shaped sound sculpture with a steel musical instrument in its palm; the artist credits its conception to Weld Queen and Maria Montvid Komova and its production to Weld Queen. Burning Man’s 2025 archive separately documents MOTHER, a reflective organic form presented with a surrounding relaxation area.
