Cloud City: a museum rooftop with controlled visitor access
The Metropolitan Museum of Art's 2012 Cloud City presentation joined 16 transparent and reflective modules on its Cantor Roof Garden. The museum documented a 54-by-29-by-28-foot structure and an internal visitor route, with entry limited by timed tickets and weather. The installation related its spatial experience to Central Park and the Manhattan skyline. This historical presentation makes visitor operations part of the curatorial reference, alongside modular geometry, reflective surfaces and the experience of moving through the artwork.

For your project briefHow will site views, visitor access, staffing and weather-dependent operation be developed alongside the artistic design?

On Space Time Foam: movement shared through membranes
On Space Time Foam was presented at HangarBicocca in Milan in 2012, curated by Andrea Lissoni. Saraceno's studio lists transparent PVC membranes, Velcro and wood, and includes an interview in which he explains how a participant's weight deforms a membrane and affects others nearby. The work's social proposition is inseparable from its physical behavior. The historical installation is a reference for collective participation; its materials list is not a transferable structural or visitor-capacity specification.

Poetic Cosmos of the Breath: atmosphere as part of the work
For Arts Catalyst's International Artist Airshow, Poetic Cosmos of the Breath unfolded at Gunpowder Park in Essex on September 22, 2007. The studio describes a large dome of iridescent foil, held at ground level by sandbags, rising as sunlight warmed the air inside. Participants assisted the dawn event. Its documentation is of a collective, weather-related performance as much as a sculptural object, so the sunrise, setting and process belong to the artistic precedent.

For your project briefIs the intended commission a timed outdoor performance or a continuously viewable work, and how would weather and audience scheduling shape that choice?
