What the project record tells us
Copernicus Science Centre / Przemiany Festival commission, 2013
Small independent objects form a collective event
Constellaction was created for Copernicus Science Centre and the 2013 Przemiany Festival. panGenerator describes four hundred independent objects that react to light and pass it onward, producing an audiovisual chain whose arrangement visitors can change. Inspired by emergent natural behavior, the work lets a larger pattern arise from many simple interactions. Its participation model is practical as well as conceptual. How would a host provide enough space and time for people to rearrange the objects, observe a result and try a different configuration together?

A public wall becomes a shared sequencer
The Wall of Sound was commissioned for Katowice Street Art 2019: Urban Sound. Hexagonal modules let people record and replay sounds, while connections between them build sequences from visitors’ voices. panGenerator developed independent electronic nodes with no central controller, allowing the physical arrangement to shape the musical network. The work translates music-making into a shared public activity. For a comparable installation, how would the placement of recording points, listening positions and connecting paths encourage contributions from several people without overwhelming the surrounding space?

A staircase carries a voice downward
Spiralalala transformed the Szczecin Philharmonic’s spiral staircase during MDF Festival in 2018. Visitors recorded a vocal sound, then a released ball traveled along a thirty-five-meter track. Infrared sensing linked its position and speed to audio processing and a light trail, while five speakers made the voice seem to descend between floors. Projection helped people in the lobby follow the event. For an architectural commission, which viewpoints and acoustic connections would allow spectators on different levels to understand the same participant-driven sequence?
