Paige Tashner

Point Richmond, California, United States

Paige Tashner makes illuminated, participatory metal sculptures from her Point Richmond practice, often using cats as a way to invite play and connection. Stardust, a flying-saucer-shaped bench with suspended lights, was installed at Burning Man in 2018 and subsequently shown at the Portland Winter Light Festival. The Purr Pods followed in 2019 as large mild-steel cats inspired by her pets. Trust debuted in 2023 as five cat forms arranged in a circle, with activities intended to connect visitors. Her portfolio distinguishes later presentations of individual Trust cats from the original complete configuration. The artist also reports that Purrmaid, a cat-and-mermaid installation focused on kelp forests, reached Burning Man in 2026. That recent presentation is attributed to the artist’s dated project history, without asserting independently verified current siting.
