12:21 Turquoise Portal: sound experienced inside a sculpture
Burning Man’s firsthand 2012 account describes visitors gathering inside the Turquoise Portal around the low-frequency Quasar Wave Transducer. The writer records Gruber checking the battery, adjusting sound and switching on interior lights. Gruber explained that the device intentionally paused twelve times daily for twenty-one minutes. These observations establish a particular operating experience and timed program; the account’s spiritual interpretations should be understood as participant and artist perspectives, rather than demonstrated health effects.

1:44 Portal: a distinct ring-and-pyramid configuration
The 2022 event guide credits the 1:44 Inter-dimensional Space Time Portal to Harlan Emil Gruber and Maraya — TransPortals. It describes a thirty-two-foot ring, two crossing sixteen-foot arches and a central stepped pyramid with an interior listening space. This configuration differs from the earlier Turquoise and Amethyst works. The historical description does not supply engineering drawings or capacity information for a new installation.

A series conceived for temporary installation
Gruber’s TransPortals overview presents the series as interactive environments developed for Burning Man since 2004 and designed to be transported, installed and removed. It distinguishes dated versions, including the 2009 Amethyst and 2012 Turquoise Portals, and advertises leases and private commissions. That is a published inquiry route, not confirmation that a particular surviving Portal is available today. The numbered titles and dates are important identifiers when requesting a specific version.
