David Oliver

David Oliver develops illuminated sculpture using stained glass, steel and stone. Burning Man’s 2019 archive credits Portal to Oliver and the Art City Monsters: a two-sided, twelve-foot ring assembled from 4, 608 stained-glass tiles between basalt columns. ARTECH’s Reno Playa Art Park 2020 program lists the same work and artist, providing a separate exhibition-host reference. Subsequent event entries describe Petaled Portal in 2022, the twenty-four-foot Beacon with illuminated lamps in 2024, and three glowing globe-topped plant figures called ORBs in 2025. These archive descriptions document the proposed or registered works; they do not establish every installation’s completion or current location.
