BYTE

BYTE is an art collective and Burning Man community founded by Jason “Jay” Blanda and Andrew Lazorchak. Its robot characters turn microchip-like silhouettes into large, tactile installations with fur, reflective eyes and spaces for gathering. The group’s project history dates Chip and Terra’s first Black Rock City presentation to 2018; Burning Man’s 2022 archive documents a hanging wisteria garden and an elevated lounge within the installation. BYTE’s official site also describes smaller public-display adaptations using artificial grass. Its local installation examples include Meg at Do Not Sit On The Furniture and Flora and Fauxna at the Sagamore Hotel. The collective profile preserves the founders’ distinct identities and treats named sites as documented examples, without implying current display, booking availability or verified installation performance.
